Solutions for Clinicians and Their Teams

Practical, Interesting, and Engaging Continuing Education Options

As clinicians, you are dedicated to patient safety and to improving human life through the delivery of high quality health care. APS believes that the collaborative practice model best supports these goals. All clinicians are integral to the process of providing high-quality care with reduced errors. To be an effective member of a care team, every member of that team should be educated appropriately about the process. But information is evolving rapidly, and your time is limited.

Highlights

  • Support collaborative practice model
  • Clinical teams taught on the same information
  • Authored by world-renown experts
  • Designed for busy work environments
"APS eLearning is the embodiment of Obstetrics in the 21st century. It is a critical part of staying on top of trends in Obstetrics and avoiding patient harm."

Developed with experts from the Harvard Medical Institutions and partners like Stanford Hospitals & Clinics, APS online medical education is focused on clinical practice in areas like obstetrics, surgery, and internal medicine. The APS eLearning courses reflect currently accepted standards and protocols as well as the wisdom of renowned experts. Through these courses, you can practice your decision-making skills in a safe environment and benefit from feedback provided by highly respected leaders in your field.

APS knows that clinicians have precious little time for training and are constantly interrupted during the course of their day. APS nurse and physician training programs are designed to suit your learning style and busy work environment. During APS courses, you are engaged in managing a wide range of case scenarios and dealing effectively with other members of a clinical team. A flexible, learner-centric design ensures that APS courses can satisfy the needs of clinicians with different levels of expertise and different roles, so the course will fit your needs.

To support the collaborative practice model, courses presented by Advanced Practice Strategies provide nurses access to the same content presented to doctors. This allows nurses to deepen their understanding of medical situations. Nurses are not required to pursue, or tested on, physician specific content. It is available so that nurses have the option to learn and investigate as they desire. Additional nursing-specific content, tools, and expert advice are also provided. At the same time, physician training programs present new material arising from current research on the origins of error and safe practice within a complex, team based environment.

Advanced Practice Strategies believes that, at the end of the day, it is not a nursing or physician process but rather the patient care process that makes the difference. All of our discussion forums and online courses are developed to support this process. APS courses are also accredited by ACCME and ANCC partners for both CME and CE credit. For instance, our obstetrics education is accredited through a joint-sponsorship with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and our surgery courses are accredited by AORN.
