Medical Illustrations
APS uses our extensive library of medical illustrations—compiled over 13 years of hard work on thousands of cases—to create case-specific visual strategies for your medical malpractice and personal injury cases. Unlike many illustrations, which are often enlargements of standard images from anatomy textbooks, our illustrations are customized to show the exact pathology associated with your case.
Board-certified medical illustrators with over 45 years of combined experience develop our illustrations for a variety of formats:
- For courtroom presentations, we recommend full-sized "boards," images enlarged to 30" x 40" and mounted on foam core boards.
- For smaller venues, such as arbitration cases, mediations, and videotaped depositions, smaller tabletop versions—24" x 36" or 14" x 19"—are more appropriate.
- Our illustrations can also be used in computer presentations, appropriate for all venues.
X-rays
APS is a leader in the field of x-ray reproduction, providing copies, enlargements, and enhancements upon request.
Multimedia Presentations
APS also creates engaging multimedia courtroom materials. We combine our illustrations and x-rays with digital imaging to create visually persuasive presentations. Our slideshows and animations bring vivid life to medical information, such as charts and strips, providing context and support to expert testimony.
For example, we can create a timeline of case-related events to highlight crisis points in a changing situation. In this way, experts can show the jury not only what was known during the crisis, but when it was known, giving them a clearer picture of whether the physican's actions were correct at the time they were taken.
Consultation
APS is dedicated to providing you with the visual strategy that will best educate your jury. We work with you throughout the process—from determining which of our products best meets your requirements to assembling your evidence in the manner that best makes your case. We work with your experts to develop presentations that can be used to gradually expand the jury's understanding from very basic anatomy concepts to the complex pathology represented in the illustrations pertinent to the case.
Even from across the country, you can keep up-to-date with the progress of your case. The Project Review section found in our website allows you to review and comment on the progress of your illustrations. Simply log in with the password we provide, and you'll have immediate access to the latest version of your materials. Or, if you need more input, our Web Meeting room allows real-time consultation among expert witnesses, legal teams, and other involved parties without the disruption associated with traveling to and from such conferences.
