HCA: Management Micropremature Births

One of the most challenging areas for obstetricians is the delivery of infants at the threshold of viability, 21–25 weeks' gestation. This course helps them navigate the maze of medical, ethical, and legal issues surrounding these births, where one misstep can lead not only to claims of malpractice, but possible criminal charges.

APS developed courseware with Physicians' Reciprocal Insurers as an adjuct to their Home Study Course. These courses discuss risk management issues across a range of specialties, and their simple, flexible design makes them a favorite among health care professionals.

Risk Management for Nurses

APS is working with the Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA) to develop a series of courses addressing the unique challenges faced by nurses in their professional roles. These courses are designed to raise awareness on such subjects as workplace violence and latex allegies, presented using APS’ proven instructional design methodology.
