In 1993 John Harrington became one of only 370 board certified medical illustrators worldwide. As well as being an experienced artist, he acts as a courtroom expert witness in both medical malpractice and personal injury litigation in a wide variety of specialties including obstetrics, orthopedics and neurology. He is a frequent presenter at continuing medical and legal education seminars and events and is a repeated guest on a variety of radio and television shows, most recently Carver’s Law and Law Talk Live. He is a regular contributor to a variety of publications including the Boston Globe, New England Journal of Medicine, Fortune Magazine and Lawyer’s Alert.

Mr. Harrington received his degree in Fine Arts from Boston University in 1985. He was employed by and completed his prerequisite course requirement of the Association of Medical Illustrators at the Harvard Medical School in 1987 and completed his medical art requirements at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center in 1990. He became an Associate Medical Illustrator in 1990 and was board certified in 1993. He is a Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Faculty Member, and a member of both the Association of Medical Illustrators and the Massachusetts Association of Trial Attorneys.
