APS’s Demonstrative Evidence Group (DEG), the leading provider of jury education and visual strategy in the defense of medical malpractice, today announced their charitable donation to the Edward J. Ill Excellence in Medicine Awards Program and Scholarship Fund, part of the Excellence in Medicine Foundation’s efforts to make the cost of medical education in New Jersey more affordable to young people.
The Edward J. Ill Excellence in Medicine Awards program is named for New Jersey physician Edward J. Ill, MD, who was a pioneer in promoting continuing education. The awards ceremony, taking place this month, honors exemplary New Jersey doctors and leaders whose dedication to education, research and public service have significantly impacted the delivery of healthcare. Profits from this annual dinner support the Edward J. Ill Excellence in Medicine Scholarship Fund.
“APS’s Demonstrative Evidence Group is proud to support these awards and the overall mission of the Foundation,” said Timothy J. Croke, VP and General Manager of APS’s Demonstrative Evidence Group. “We understand the importance of making quality education more accessible to clinicians because we believe in patient safety. From creating an entirely new generation of lifelong education online to defending clinicians in the courtroom when necessary, we're tackling both sides of the risk equation and improving patient safety every day.”
Since 2003, this annual event has been sponsored by MDAdvantage Insurance Company of New Jersey, one of New Jersey’s leading medical professional liability insurance carriers. Their partner since 2009, DEG has contributed to the defense of MDAdvantage-insured clinicians by employing a proven visual and jury education strategy through high-quality case-specific medical illustrations, x-ray enhancements, and multimedia presentations to complement expert testimony.
